Most Recent BC Gov’t Study Indicates Surrey Only City In Greater Vancouver To See Violent Crime Increase
The most recent study by the BC Government pegs Surrey as the ONLY Greater Vancouver City with a net increase in violent crimes over the 10 year period from 2003 to 2012.Surrey residents demand better.
The Safe Surrey Coalition believes a multi-faceted approach is necessary to effectively reduce violent crime in this city.
1) Create Mayor’s Integrated Public Safety Council
2) Guarantee Minimum Standards for RCMP Service Levels
3) Hire 95 New RCMP Officers & Double Street Patrol
4) Double Number of Bylaw Officers
5) Invest in Social Development Programs
6) Expand Public Involvement in Local Crime Prevention
